Hello. I have experienced troubles with erection (male impotence) for about 7 years since I was diagnosed with paraphimosis.

I have tried almost all major impotence pills, including generic Viagra, Cialis and Levitra – but nothing have helped me – I still can’t achieve or maintain an erection.

Recently I was diagnosed with Diabetes – my doctor said that I had experienced it without knowing.

It caused damage to my eyes and I had to have larger surgery to prevent further development of vision problems.

As tests show now I have my Diabetes under control – I take certain medications for it and for HBP as well.

Can paraphimosis be the cause of my impotence and what should I do.

Hello. To my knowledge paraphimosis may or may not cause erectile dysfunction in men, but since you have diabetes – this is likely the main cause of impotence. Since you had to have larger surgery it means your body was affected by Diabetes and probably not only eyes – your penile area was probably affected to. As your system does not respond to PDE5 inhibitors such as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra you can give a try to some natural ED remedies or consider penile implants or MUSE as well.

I am 60 years old, diabetic.

I take lisinopril, metformin, metoprolol and tricor to control high blood pressure and manage diabetes.

I also experience problems with erection (erectile dysfunction) and doctor prescribed me Viagra (Sildenafil Citrate) 50mg.

With Viagra I am able to achieve an erection but can’t ejaculate.

I mean that I can’t have an orgasm and ejaculation.

There is a few reasons that cause men with erectile dysfunction to be unable to achieve and orgasm and ejaculate. They can be of both mental and physical nature.

Psychological causes can be related to past negative sexual experience and are usually hard to determine.

Diabetes is the most like cause in your case as you are diabetic. Unfortunately your condition is almost untreatable. Good control of diabetes can prevent the problem of getting worse. I have semen discharged from my penis during sexual foreplay.

Hello. I am 35 years old male and I have a sexual problem.

It started about 2 months ago.

I have huge amount of semen discharging from my penis when I get aroused during foreplay with my girlfriend.

After that I lose my erection and unable to continue with intercourse.

Even if we have sex before I lose my erection I can’t last long – usually I can last 1-3 minutes. It puts big strain on our relationship, please help!

I used to masturbate but I stopped doing it as I thought it could be the cause of the problem. But it didn’t help. I also have type 1 Diabetes (I was diagnosed with it when I was 12). To manage it I take humalog insulin and lantus. I also take vitamin C 500mg and centrum multi vitamin, 100 mg of fish oil, 5mg of lisinopril and 300mg of wellbutrin daily.

I had my kidneys and urine checked about 1 month ago – they were completely normal. I don’t drink alcohol and I don’t do drugs. I don’t smoke.

Hello, Colin. You should realize that as a man with type 1 Diabetes you are likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction at an earlier age, because you have had your Diabetes for a long period of time (since you were 12).

According to numerous medical tests men with type 1 Diabetes in 20% of cases have low testosterone level. So I suggest you to visit your physician and check your testosterone level.

If testosterone levels are OK you should check other possible causes of weak erections. They could be of psychological nature – e.g. stress, depression or anxiety.

Anyway I strongly recommend you to visit your physician to check your testosterone levels because you are in a risk group of lowered testosterone as you have type 1 Diabetes.

The choice of impotence treatment option is up to your doctor.
