Can I get impotent if I am still virgin at the age of 25?

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Question by Daniel:

Hello, my name is Daniel. I am 21. I am still virgin.

I have been dating with a girl for 2 years, without sex.

And we decided to wait until we get married which I assume will occur in 2 years at least or even later.

I am OK with that but a couples of days ago I read on internet that the later one starts having sex the more are chances of getting into ED risk group.

Please, let me know – is that true?

If yes – what can I do to avoid it without breaking my promise to hold off until marriage?

Answer:

Hi, Daniel.

The claim you read on internet is the silliest thing I’ve ever heard. How can they state it? Have they done any researches, what was the control group? Finally, what were they trying to sell? =)

They say that ‘waiting too long’ can make you impotent. Well, ‘waiting too long’ for what? Having sex? Well, I assume you masturbate. If yes – then what is the principal difference between doing it with a woman or alone? I think you understand that the difference is very small. You get erection helping yourself with hands and ejaculate – that’s kind of sex too. I don’t see any chance how it can lead you to impotence.

Man’s sexual desire and to some degree the hardness of erections are controlled by certain hormone. It’s name is testosterone. I assume you’ve heard about it. Normally men start feeling lack of testosterone at the age above 45.

It shown up as weaker erections and disability to ejaculate more that 2-3 times per night. Then they go to their doctor and ask him for testosterone cream or anything similar. As a rule that helps to fix impotence. Sometimes use of generic Viagra or other ED pills is needed.

At your age your testosterone level are OK and I repeat – being virgin an technical sense at your age has nothing to do with possibility of male impotence.

My best wishes.

Last time I had an erection was 2 years ago – what can I do?

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Question by Tod:

Hello. For about 2 years I have experienced troubles with erection.

Actually 2 years ago was the very last time I was able to achieve it.

I think I have male impotence.

My wife left me. We divorced.

I decided to stop any relationships with women as I was unable to satisfy them and it was very embarrassing.

But a couple of days ago I met wonderful women. All was OK, we chatted and walked on the streets.
After that we came to my place and made an attempt to have sex. But again my erection was too weak and I was unable do anything…

Please, help! Is there any way to fix impotence? I want to be healthy again.

Answer:

Hello, Tod. Thanks for your question.

Male impotence can be caused by psychological or physical causes.

Most common psychological causes are stress, depression and anxiety. They cause about 2% of all impotence cases.

Good way to fix psychogenic impotence is to focus on physical sensations of your and your partner’s bodies rather than on sexual arousal. Close warm relationship can help improve erection too.

You should also check if you have nocturnal erections. If you don’t – your ED is mist likely caused by physical factors, such as serious underlying diseases, trauma, surgery of many others.

In any case if you want your impotence fixed I suggest you to consult your doctor and have some tests done in order to determine the cause of your impotence. After that your doctor will determine an appropriate treatment. Please have in mind that impotence is a manageable condition and in many cases the treatment include certain medications, such as generic Viagra or others.

Question by Dan:

Hello. I’m 6 years old, healthy fit man.

I’m getting married next week.

My fiance is a wonderful woman, we love each other.

The only thing that spoils our relationship is my erection problems.

Sometimes I have troubles with maintaining it long enough in order to satisfy my fiance.

She says that is abnormal condition, but I personally think that at my age it is OK to experience it sometimes.

Who’s right? And what can you recommend me for impotence treatment?

Answer:

Hello, Dan. Happy to hear about your marriage.

Regarding erectile dysfunction:

In the majority of cases it’s caused by physical (not psychological) issues.
They include:

  • Heart problems
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Atherosclerosis
  • HBP
  • Diabetes
  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Heavy smoking and alcohol abuse
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Low testosterone level
  • Obesity
  • Peyronie’s disease
  • Certain types of medications
  • Trauma or surgeries
  • Fatigue

Mental causes include:

  • Depression, stress and anxiety
  • Relationship problems

Usually at your age developing ED is a normal condition. Anyway I would recommend you to consult your physician for evaluation.
He might prescribe you some anti-impotence medications, such as generic Viagra 5mg or generic Cialis 2mg.

My best wishes.
